Beekeeping Taster Days

HBKA Apiary

HINCHINGBROOKE COUNTRY PARK, BRAMPTON ROAD, HUNTINGDON

Saturdays 5 May; 2 June; 7 July; 4 Aug 2012.

An HBKA Taster Day begins in the Apiary at 10.45am and concludes at about 1pm- weather permitting

Each session will be available for up to 10 participants including space for one wheelchair user. Due to the working height of the hives, we have a minimum height requirement of 4 feet 9 inches.

All participants will be provided with full protective clothing – full suit and veil and gloves; we strongly recommend that you wear a long-sleeved top and long trousers and you will definitely need boots. Wellies are perfect but any boots that will protect your ankles and you can tuck the trousers into will be fine! Bees love bare ankles!

The cost is £15 per head. Payment needs to be by cheque (payable to HBKA) in advance as we don't have card or cash handling capabilities. Cancellation refunds are available if we can replace your booking. Included in the price of the session is a car park pass for each family group to use for that day only in the upper car park of the Country Park.

Bees are very sensitive to the weather and so the sessions can only run if the conditions are right, it may be necessary to re-schedule your session if the weather is not favourable.

All the monies we raise from the Taster Days go into HBKA funds.
